If it's just for better economy then you'll really struggle to recoup the cost of the upgrade. Similarly, if it's because of a problem then it's often more economic to have even quite an expensive repair done to an otherwise good car that you like and trust than to pay more on a replacement which may have its own problems .
Good thought.
Well, of course you're right but then cars are always a gamble, as I see it. You can buy expensive rubbish as well as cheap rubbish.
The one I have is beginning to feel its age and the repair bills are getting ever greater each year... and at MY age, I think that something a little more up to date and comfortable would be a reasonable ask!0 -
That sounds like a sensibly thought out reason but was worth asking - so many people get convinced to change a car just because a first big bill's come in.
If you've been happy with the Hyundai then, as suggested earlier, the i10 would be well worth looking at.0 -
the i10 is a great car but if you find your current accent small than the i10
is going to be smaller still, going on the basis of size and the i10 is probably not your car, you may want to look at the i20 or even the i30, much bigger, just something to think what if you're concerned about the size of your car0 -
LizEstelle, before you take this advice, check out some of this poster's recent comments on other threads. He seems to be deliberately posting wildly incorrect information and then provoking a fight anyone who disagrees.NewUserHere wrote: »Get yourself a ford MONDEO

For reference, a Ford Mondeo is a very long car (too long to fit most supermarket spaces without overhanging) and even the Octavia is way bigger than your post suggests you would be happy with.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
Surprised they didnt suggest an M5 or maybe an old neglected Petrol VW Golf, or is it a Yaris or.......Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Hmmm, I'm not sure. The style is somehow wrong. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0

Oh, he's around all right. Just behaving himself at the moment.0 -
I think you are basically looking for a SuperminiMPV.
I'm a fan of the Mitsubishi COLT, which had 50% parts share with the Smart ForFour. Mitsubishi had a period with Mercedes, so they shared technology. The 1.5Litre diesel was a Mercedes part, but nobody wanted to pay for the engine, so they discontinued it, and carried on with the 1.3Litre petrol.
Short car, so really easy to park, especially with the parking sensor.
The three door version is even shorter.
They replaced it with the Mirage about four years ago, but I see plenty on the roads, and Mitsubishi dealers have used ones.0
