    I still don't see any problem at all with the speed that you are currently connecting at
    ADSL2+ has a theoretical max of 24Mbps - and you are getting over half this (what were you connecting at - prior to this ?) !!
    The only way that you can connect faster is cable or fibre - so I would wait to be connected......

    Sorry, my main issue was the dropping out every 5 or 10 minutes (in the end it refused to connect all together) more so than the speed, i know im lucky compared to some, but had wrongly been putting the hanging up/dropping out down to speed, but now know that isnt the case

    OK and leave the router switched on 24/7 too - it tends to drop speed everytime that you disconnect !!
