I have read through the Newbie thread and to be honest all the information is very overwhelming.
I have also read contradicting information about appealing with IAS, some people say do it and some say just wait for court.
This has left me more confused than I was before posting my thread.

The parking company is not in Wales. I understand that I cannot use POPLA because New generation parking management ltd are under different membership "scamming" rules.
So what other choices do I have, I need to wait for court to appeal or don't use IAS and just pay the £100?

Don't be confused. The IAS is a sham set up to protect it's members such as Generation Parking Management Ltd.

There is little or no point in appealing to the IAS as they will reject it, it's all part of the protection racket ... believe it or not it is allowed by government.

For you now, just sit and wait. You will probably start getting letters from debt collectors stating the most stupid things. These debt collectors have no power whatsoever and its only to scare you.

If and only if, the PPC wants to take you to court, they must do so and nobody else.

This can take ages and might never happen. So ignore everything until you get court papers, if you ever do?

If that happens come back here.
To pay up now, you will be lining the scammers pockets and you don't want to that do you ?
  • I know its short notice, but can anyone scan over my appeal please?

I need to send it tonight as I'm away with work tomorrow for a while so I will miss the deadline.

The only way that can happen is if you post it up. ;)

It is IAS, it is unlikely that they would wish one of their unsigned law stood on its head decisions to be shown to a judge.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Basic question. Are you sure there are no signs saying you need to display a permit? Is that claimed contravention on the NtK?

Or is there some system in place where you have to register your car with the managing agents?

Seems to me to be strange if not. For example, anyone could be using a hire car or letting partner use space and a PPC won't want to spend £2.50 with the DVLA every time a strange car is parked in a parking space.

And what does your tenancy agreement say?

You don't need to write an appeal for IAS until AFTER the parking firm put forward their 'prima facie case'. If you are determined to try IAS then be aware that you will feel on the back foot when you almost certainly lose and that's why we do not recommend it. People come back and say 'I lost, do I have to pay now?'. No, they don't, but they feel their case is suddenly much more hopeless which is what is intended by this industry as consumers 'futilely go through the motions' of IAS appeal.

    Read this:

    http://parking-prankster.blogspot.co.uk/2016/01/is-independent-appeal-service-kangaroo.html

Anyway, if you are still determined to try IAS, you only have to register 'intent' to appeal first of all. No appeal needed yet, you then get to see their 'case' then you appeal based on trying to knock down that case.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Ok thanks for your help but I still don't really understand so I submitted my appeal to IAS.

I feel like I do not have much choice on how I appeal, the IAS system forces me to submit an appeal before the parking company submits there prima facie case.
I also do not have a choice on which independent company I use to submit an appeal therefore I had to submit an appeal to IAS as they were the parking companies choice.
  • New Parking Generation Management LTD have submitted their Prima Facie Case...
It would be great if anyone has spare time to help me on this pretty please :)
