Thanks Jimmy.
I am getting on top of my issues thanks and have a supportive family which has been a blessing. It's a struggle which I am sure many wont understand, but anxiety is so debilitating for me.
Luckily my finances are really good at the moment thanks to my MIL lending the money to pay back the debt. I thought I should do a direct debit to potentially boost my credit rating? I can easily afford to pay the insurance in one lump sum (i'm quite cheap to ensure!) but my whole worry is that they will somehow be alerted to a potential CIFAS and withdraw my right to insurance. I keep googling cancelled insurance and nothing comes up for CIFAS, but if you are a convicted motorist for some other reason it looks like you can get insurance but pay a hefty amount. Its all if's and buts but i'm getting in a right state. I dread going home to the post each day.0 -
Sorry, just another question.
My HSBC is unused at the moment. Should I start putting little amounts in just to keep it active?0 -
If you mean an HSBC credit card, then yes - use regularly and clear in full each month.0

CIFAS are not the only ones, I found I couldn't take out Car insurance with a random company, and, after an Ombudsman complaint, managed to unearth that this was because of information provided by "Synetics Solutions".
I have no idea to this day what this random company have on me - I've never committed fraud or been accused of doing so - and have since taken out a mortgage etc with no issues.
So even if you're not on CIFAS, some other random company might have decided they don't like you, it's endless really.
I did consider doing a SAR, but apart from not wanting to pay £10, I don't want to give random companies copies of my ID etc.0 -
Sorry, it's a basic bank account I opened when all the first kicked off. I haven't actually used it yet and opened to see if I could open an account.0

Oh blimey, do you have anymore info on what they had against you? Could you not get any car insurance at all?0

Update!!!!!
Cifas SAR has come back........and it's clear!!!!!!
I have never felt so nervous in my life!! Massive sigh of relief! I can get on with living my life again!
Should I also check National Hunter and synectis solutions too?
Thank you everyone for your help and reassurance.0 -

I felt relieved on your behalf :rotfl:
If you have no CIFAS marker I personally wouldn't bother with the others. Up to you though, you could do it for your own peace of mind to stop you worrying even more.
Natwest are a rubbish bank anyway so no great loss.
