Sticky tape residue mark of wooden table?

damp cloth with a bit of caster sugar on it to gently scour without marking it, but as another poster said all else fails a decent tablecloth/oilcloth if its in the kitchen0

Sometimes you can remove it by sticking duck tape(or any tape with a really good sticky backing) firmly over the top then rub over it with you thumb and gently peel off.The residue sticks to the back of the tape,you might have to repeat a few times with fresh bits of tape & doesn't always work but it does more often than not & definitely worth trying.0
