Thank you. Yes white frames but composite door is black 2 panel 2 square . One opener windows. No radiator where the french door is. Semi detached house.
The expensive one says price include lintels while other one claims no lintel needed.0 -
I have another quote and a lot cheaper from a reputable local company. Very pleased getting the 3rd quote actually :T0

Well done on the more agreeable third quote. I'm getting something similar done and my breakdown is:
French doors: £1,760
Windows: £332 (each), so x8 = £2,648
Total = £4,4480 -

what's coming out ? interesting comment about the lintels. did you tell the latest people what the other said . what did they say ?:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0

3rd one never mentioned the lintels but said a surveyor will come and decide what it needs. Hopefully if they decide lintels needed that the price wont go up. First company said they will charge £300 for every window for the lintel. Thats why their price gone up.0

The question is, have you got lintels above your existing windows and doors?0

According first company no. Second company said windows provide support they need. I shall take a picture of of the windows tomorrow and put it here. Still waiting surveyor to contact me with 3rd company.
Might not be able to tell with a pic . But will be good . Whole house style might be better for me . Windows can provide support only if lintles are not required .:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0
