  • Congratulations to Miss Dumpling
Big hugs to Coxy's DH, my hubby has been the same, so disappointed when he isn't successful, our house is going on the market soon.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Coxy encourage your husband to ask for feedback from all those interviews - that is taking the mick quite a big bit, 5 interviews over 5 weeks :(

Well done / commiserations as required for cam results...have to sneakily admit to being glad all that is behind my boys!

Have handed my notice in today from a perfectly good job with added stress in the NHS for one as a jill-of-all-trades with a small charity...less money, but much better work-life balance AND about 185 miles a week closer!

Many congratulations to Miss DD and well done on the job Floss.

Commiserations to Coxy's OH, that does seem a very laborious way of going about things, will keep fingers & toes crossed that something comes up for him soon.

Islandmaid I haven't heard that expression 'overners' since my late lovely Ma-in-law was alive :) I was apparently exempt as I was married to her eldest son :), although she used to call me her son's 'cockney sparrow' :)
Lovely last night at The Buddle Inn at Niton, fantastic meal in a really gorgeous old english pub, that even had a doggy menu for their canine customers. So hot this evening its a shame we will be on our way home in the morning, but we will be back again next August for two weeks as usual:j

Coxy11 I'm sorry your poor OH has had to go through five weeks of hope,my late OH when he came home after his contract finished in the Sudan with one of the oil sheiks in 1983 had 14 months without a job as there was a recession on.

He had dozens of interviwes and often although he had the experience they said at 50 his age went against him.He eventually found a job, and when he went for the interview he was in plaster and on a pair of crutches as he had broken his ankle:eek:.I think they though 'Poor bloke he must be desperate to turn up like that. But he got the job and they gave him a company car as well and even got an automatic so he could drive with his plaster cast still on :):):)

It was very worrying and I ended up doing three jobs a day to kep us afloat, so I know how panic-stricken you are feeling. I do hope something turns up for him soon.
My old Mum would say 'What's for you ,won't go by you' and if he didn't get the job he was after, its because there is something better on its way.Don't give up hope honey,I have everything crossed for you

dumpling well done to your DD you must be so proud of her, as she is of you,you are coming on in leaps and bounds.
When we get home tomorrow from our holiday DGS Jack should have his results on the mat they have been posted out, also his year younger brother Henry will get his three science results as he did his chemistry, physics & biology GCSE this year, a year earlier.Their school gets the guys to do them earlier so they can concentrate on other subjects in the coming year.
Jack is going into 6th form when he goes back and taking 4 'A's and hopes to go to Uni to do Journalism.I hope everyone who's children got their results did OK with them.Stressful time for youngsters nowadays

Take care chums ,normal service will be resumed tomorrow :):):)
