Well done for getting it cancelled so you don't have to put up with the letter chain of demands. It was in Scotland so there was never any real problem and certainly anyone in Scotland who actually pays a private PCN is either naive or has more money than sense.

You could have ignored it (as it was not E&W, where the advice differs) but cancelling it with a complaint is better!

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I initially contacted their customer service team through their website who advised me that UKPC were the parking "experts" and very fair and I needed to appeal to them directly.
And who could possibly doubt that?

    Very fair, indeed!

If you have time for one more email, why not copy the links above to the customer service team and ask them if this is what they meant by 'very fair'?

Seems to have a different meaning north of the border! :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Yeah I know now that it would have been ok to ignore but I had missed that initially in the sticky post as I had read page after page of people saying "just pay up, the law has changed" and none of them mentioned Scotland or not until I got here.

Now its been cancelled, I should not have to be concerned with further contact from them which is all I was bothered about, plus a complaint about them to the shopping centre might start to rapidly become 2,3. so on and so forth until eventually they lose their contract...who knows...I just wish more people would kick off about these people.
