  • Oh Tigger, you're really going through the mill at the moment.

Hopefully Stepchange can give you some advice on CTC.

Keep plodding Hun, you're heading in the right direction x
  • Pay day Friday & can't come quick enough.... had to go shopping yesterday with my calculator on my phone to make sure I had enough when I got to the till!!! But I managed and didn't borrow anything off anybody to get more so pat on the back for me.... xx
  • Well had helpful conversations with HMRC and Stepchange so tax credits added to dmp but now back to being anxious as allied international have taken over my amex debt and all I can see on the internet are really bad reviews of them ..... calling at peoples houses and phoning them up to 19 times a day.... just dreading their contact now... xxx
  • Feeling okay today.... took advantage of the argos 3 for 2 so made a start on xmas at least.... all things I know he wants too which is a bonus.... paid for with my own money and not outa the catalogue so feel pleased with myself xxx
  • Second pay day since starting the dmp with sc and still feels odd not rushing around logging into all sites paying creditors with money I don't have.... feels nice to see an account with money actually in it rather than being swallowed up by the overdraft and constantly in the red!! I don't know how on earth I got myself into such a mess but I sure as hell know I won't be going back there x
  • Just caught up with your diary and wanted to wish you luck. Sounds like you are on the right track, even with the nasty surprise from the Tax Credit people.
    Starting point Aug 2016 - £13,853.38
    Current total May 2018 - £0.00 - 100.00% paid off
Debt free date (worst case) - December 2019
  • School photos taken today so best save some pennies for those.... looking to have a cheap week shopping next week too.... Mam bought me 3 new tops today so feel good I have some nice things to wear other than the stuff I seem to have had for ages! Allied international wrote to say they've acceptes the proposal from sc but just for 3 months - I mean whats that all about?!

Well school photo wasn't great so no need to buy that this year!! Tickets go on sale for my favoutite artist on Monday - a one off gig in London... the rebel in me badly wants to go but being sensible I can't justify £100 ticket, £170 hotel and £140 train and that without any food or drinks too!!! So nearly £500 before xmas that I am def not scraping together... gonna keep my money for next years tour instead as those dates are coming soon!!! 2 weeks until pay day and my budgeting skills are going well... still money left - which in the old world would have been gone on actual pay day paying the creditors out!! Contacting sc has really changed my life xxx

Just read your diary tigger and good luck on your dmp journey. Have you set up separate savings account for things like car service, Christmas birthdays and other one offs? Also an emergency fund is a must now you are no longer using credit. Just a small amount out of your monthly budget (step change allow that) means having a small buffer.

Thanks enthusiasticsaver - Yeah I have a separate savings but its so tempting to use it when you see it - especially when you're used to no money!! Feel so much better doing this - I wish I had done it years ago... x
