Turkish Airline - Flight Delay caused to miss connecting flight

Hi All,
Hope all is in good health and in high spirit.
First time posting and could use some help.
It's just how it says on the title. Me and my family (4 in total) had a flight 4:00am from Hurgarda connecting in Istanbul to Gatwick.
The plane arrived 1.5 hours late in Hurgarda, by the time the plane left it was 2.5 hours late which made us miss our connecting flight in Istanbul which was at 09:30am (In Istanbul time).
The Turkish Airline help desk gave us another flight which was at 1:55pm almost 4.5 hours later than the original flight to Gatwick.
So what I wanted to know if is I entitle to compensation for this inconvenience.
I will be super grateful if someone can help me and guide me through this. :money:

No compensation for the flight delay under EUlaw. Check the terms and conditions of Turkish airlines.0

Probably not.
The main avenue for obtaining compensation is EU law, which applies to all flights operated by airlines based in the EU, and all flights departing from airports within the EU. While the government of Turkey has for long sought EU membership, certain rascals realised that this would help people in your position obtain compensation and so, purely to spite you, have hindered Turkey's efforts to join the EU.
You could always ask for something on a good-will basis, but don't spend the money until it is promised!0 -
Cool,
Thanks guys for the quick response, so what I wanted to know if from your experience from taking part in the forums (and I can see how you guys are very active) Has Turkish Airlines ever given anyone any good will ges basis, if so are there any pre populated templates that can help/inspire me to write to them?
Thanks guys :grouphug:0
