Settled with a zero balance

I had mental health issues so some of my recollection is sketchy.
I had a default in 2008 with my bank.
looking back at historic credit files I found that the bank marked it as settled and entered zero on the balance in 2011. (It has dropped off my current file) Does that mean I paid it off? I have health issues that affect my memory.
It's equifax credit file.

It might be it was paid off.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will know more and respond.0 -
If the account defaulted back in 2008 (8 years ago) then regardless of whether you paid it back or not, it's no longer on your credit files, it's null and void.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards.
