Using t-mobile abroad

Ok so t-mobile aren't the best provider to be with when you are abroad, as we found to our cost last year. However, we've just discovered that picture (multimedia) messages are not only cheaper than normal text messages but, unlike normal text messages, ALL picture messages are counted against your flexi-allowance. This applies to those sent ANYWHERE from ANYWHERE - so its also a cheap way of texting an overseas mobile from the UK! They also hold more text than the std 160 per message. And you don't have to attach a picture. Just make sure before you go that your main contacts all have phones which are modern enough to accept them.

It's amazing isn't it. I was giving the same advice to my brother the other day about not texting from abroad. Even data use I believe is 0.75p/kb abroad - same as UK rates (though obviously no web'n'walk/£1 cost cap)

I presume that MMS = Multi Media or picture message. We've received this months statement and the messages we sent when we were in Italy were definitely all covered within our flext allowance. This includes picture messages sent to other UK mobiles in the UK & Italy, as well as messages sent to Irish & German mobiles. We've also used it to send picture messages from the UK to Ireland. All were covered.
