Using t-mobile abroad

Ok so t-mobile aren't the best provider to be with when you are abroad, as we found to our cost last year. However, we've just discovered that picture (multimedia) messages are not only cheaper than normal text messages but, unlike normal text messages, ALL picture messages are counted against your flexi-allowance. This applies to those sent ANYWHERE from ANYWHERE - so its also a cheap way of texting an overseas mobile from the UK! They also hold more text than the std 160 per message. And you don't have to attach a picture. Just make sure before you go that your main contacts all have phones which are modern enough to accept them.

...and it's probably a good idea to check that your phone can send them before heading off, to save any expensive calls to customer services to get settings sent out!0

It's amazing isn't it. I was giving the same advice to my brother the other day about not texting from abroad. Even data use I believe is 0.75p/kb abroad - same as UK rates (though obviously no web'n'walk/£1 cost cap)The thanks button is here to the right. If you find a post saves you money, gives you useful information, or you agree with it, take a second to thank the poster!
