Mortgage offer

My mortgage application went in via an independent adviser last Wednesday. The lender instructed a surveyor on Thursday (They are going to the property this Friday), and i received an Equifax notification showing that they'd done a credit check on Friday. Today adviser says they have all the documents that they need and are not requesting any more information.

Do you think this means that I've passed all credit related stuff and the final offer hinges on the survey? Surely they've had enough time to assess my application and wouldn't go ahead with the survey if they were not willing to give me the mortgage?

The lender is Leeds Building Society. All documents were sent in one go last Wednesday. The broker said that it's looking good but they may ask for further information after the survey.

I dont really use Leeds so cant answer. However looking at their website, it appears to be taking them 2 working days to look over paperwork so I would imagine it has all been reviewed.

That's great. I'm sure if it was a no, i'd know by now and they would have cancelled the surveyor. Guess i'll just have to be patient for another week and hope that the valuation is the same as the offer. Think this is the first time I've ever wished away a bank holiday.. :rotfl:

    Thanks for your help
  • Hi ACG
    quick question!!

I had feedback from my broker Monday saying.... '
Regarding the mortgageapplication: I have just got off the phone to NatWest and they told me that thefinal checks have been done and nothing further is requested. The valuationcame back fine this time round. So nothing is delaying it, but they have notyet sent the offer'

Is there any reasons Natwest would hold back from sending the offer?

Nat West have no reason not to issue your offer if they are in a position to do so. Workload is delaying matters.

Leeds don't send the final "shopping list" of requirements until they have all the minimum submission requirements and these have been signed-off.

What other things could they request? As far as i can tell (looking on their website) they've got all the minimum submission requirements, and they say they don't require anything else at present.

The only thing I can think is that the offer has been pulled for audit...but your broker would know that and could tell you.

It sounds very odd as I have sent natwest loads in the last month and every case is going straight through within 24 hours. I sent a document yesterday at 3pm, the offer was issued at 10am this morning.
