Agreed. Take the cleaner and any packaging back to the store, along with the statement showing the purchase. The store should be able to get an electronic copy of the receipt. Let us know how you get on.0

Where did you buy it from? If it was Argos they generally are excellent at refunding.0

If your friend damaged/broke your vacuum using it for something it was not designed for, why on earth should you be given a refund, repair or exchange by the store?0

I had a mat who had some work carried out to his home. He borrowed my cleaner and since he returned it, it has never worked properly.
Work carried out to home? Does this involve brick dust?? Brick dust and certain vacuums so NOT mix well.
I attempted to hoover up brick dust after some DIY and my poor Dyson almost overheated. The filters clogged in sexonds and it didn't suck any more!!
It has never been the same since, despite washing the filters!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
ok, final update for those who have offered genuine support.
As mentioned previously, i was unable to take the vacuum cleaner apart. my original plan was to get rid of it, but notice two supporting messages telling me to forget taking the product apart, and return with packaging and bank statement.
Drove to the store, and approached customer service. I was ready for a battle, but remained calm. explained I had telephoned their care line, and was told to come to the store. I explained I had lost the receipt, but had a bank statement confirming my purchase.
Informed the customer service, the product ws not working properly. Through their own checks via the card and date i purchased, customer service did not even bother looking at my bank statement.
I was offered a replacement, and told to collect one from the store floor.
The vacuum section did not have any of the same models in stock.
I was given a refund and left the store.
I went to another store, and purchased a different cleaner.
Thank you to those who helped, really glad you was around, i would not of bothered otherwise.
thank you again.Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0
