Car insurance voided from inception-Help and advice needed

So if you declared these 2 claims and did not know whether the previous Insurers paid out to a third party, because the Insurers did not tell you, then i could see why you drew a conclusion from increasing no claim discount.
Get on the phone to Direct Line customer relations/complaints and follow it up in writing.
Explain to them that your previous policies were third party, not comprehensive. You let the Insurers deal with any third party claim made. The Insurers told you nothing in writing either by letter or on a renewal notice received. The renewal notices showed increasing no claim discount, which you took as confirmation that the third parties had not claimed. Therefore you believe that you did declare accurate information to Direct Line, so the policy should not have been voided. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
The op admits doing quotes with and without claims in his history.
He will be hard pressed to convince them that he only lied when declaring the claims and told the truth only on the application he made that he bought!0 -

It does sound like the reason they have cancelled your insurance is to do with the way that you got quotes for them with and without amounts in the claims. So when they did find out there was claims it appears you are trying to commit fraud and knew about the amounts.
Also how come you are insured as Third Part Fire and Theft. Have you tried getting quotes for fully comp because this is usually cheaper.0 -

Yes i did do some quotes with claims out of curiosity more than anything. I have also done many quotes for various different cars also out of curiosity.
I truly did not know though that my previous insurers had paid out and as my NCB was not affected I did not question this.
It was only when i spoke to Direct Line that I found out about this.0 -
When I am doing dummy quotes I always go as mr smith from the house next door and wipe cookies every time.0

When you do quotes online you do agree that the info you give is correct, and clearly you couldn't be seen to be telling the truth if you changed from a history with incidents to a "clean" history.
Thus you are seen as being untruthful, and looking to manipulate your history to your advantage.0 -
The problem is you weren't truthful about your incidents. Your accident history is material when it comes to applying for insurance.

I did include the incidents in all the quotes I did including the direct line policy. The issue seems to be that I did some quotes with claim made and and some with no claim made.
As my NCB was never affected I assumed that there had been no claims paid out so that is why I put that down in the final quote.0 -

In the final quote you put no claims paid out? Did you note the accidents?
Does your policy documents note the incidents?
If you didn't then this is why the policy has been voided.
The question they ask relates to claims and/or accidents.0 -

The accidents were included in the quote and I put at fault/no claims made.
They are also shown like this on the policy documents.0
