Nationwide FlexPlus - worth it?

As per previous thread I am going to move my main current account from Smile to Nationwide. I already have a basic Flex account but wonder whether their FlexPlus at £10/month is worth it for mobile phone insurance, travel insurance and breakdown insurance etc?
On paper it looks like a good deal especially with 3% interest.
I have never had a 'packaged' account before and am generally wary about giving banks money for anything!

Totally worth it for us, our worldwide, multi-trip, annual travel insurance at age 61 & 67 (with some medical issues included) was costing way more than £120 pa. The interest was an added incentive along with the breakdown cover but TBH we weren't bothered about the rest of the benefits.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0

what do you currently pay for mobile insurance ?
what do you pay for breakdown insurance
what do you pay for travel insurance?
do these products provide equivalent cover ?0 -
Like you this was my first fee paying account.
I took it out for the travel insurance, we were paying £100-120 for "good" annual worldwide cover, so by keeping the maximum balance in the account the interest brings the fee down to around £60 pa,

Like yourself we didn't like paying banks, but my husband and I took this account in August because the £120 fee covered our 2 car breakdown covers and so the holiday insurance and extra's were a plus. We did pay an extra £40 towards the holiday insurance to extend the away period but this still worked out cheaper than us taking the insurance separately.0

Hi did this £40 cover you for being away for up to 180 days as opposed to the normal up to 30 days?
"b) Extended journey cover: If you are planning a long holiday or extended journey past 31 days we can extend your
cover up to 180 days. (Extended journey cover is not available for winter sports)."0 -
Hi the £40 was to extend the trip duration to 56 days and that is applied to every trip you take within that year. We phoned and got a quote 1st before opening the account just to make sure that it was worth it.0

Worth it for us as a joint account the £10 per month fee is partly offset by keeping £2500 balance in there earning 3% interest.
As a joint account in particular if you want / need worldwide travel insurance, breakdown cover and mobile phone cover it is very good value at £120 per year even better if you can take advantage of the 3% interest to partly offset that fee0 -
It's been worth it for me. I used their breakdown cover for the first time last week and it was a much better service than I had previously got with the AA.Total Debt - £17,850.57

Yes, definitely worth it. We've used breakdown cover in UK and France, both times very good service.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

Reading the details of the breakdown cover it appears that you get towed to a garage and not your destination. Have I read this correctly as I was thinking of upgrading my account for this until I read that bit.

Lack of fuel Yes
Loss of keys Yes
Towing to a garage Yes"0
