Is there an Fn switch combination to toggle Wireless on and off? All should be covered in the user manual.
Yes there is Fn switch to toggle which I have done and it shows on side of laptop that wireless on
Check the device manager - there is an exclamation mark under other devices and then network controller. Of course I cant do this until connected to internet.
Cant believe I have no ethernet cables in the house - have had clear out recently and thought why would I need those again !!!
Wee 99p order off ebay so hopefully wont take long to arrive.

Off course you can download the Drivers, perhaps if you are using another PC to post, on to a USB drive and then install them to the Netbook.
I have no idea as to why your Recovery partition would not install the Drivers. Odd.0 -

update found USB - downloaded wireless drive and copied to USB - tried to install on sons laptop but just opened random files of codes.

not sure what I did ..... problem might have been the way I put the driver onto USB - I copied and pasted it which was probably wrong but couldnt work out any other way to do it (using a Chromebook!)0 -

You can copy and paste it from the Chromebook. But then you need to right click on the .zip file and choose Extract All. Then you will have a new folder. Go into that and double click on ASUS Setup and continue to follow the prompts.0
