Family Contracts - EE or Three?
Hello,
I wondered if you could offer some advice views...
I have been with Three for about four years and despite a couple of issues with a couple of signal dead-spots (no 2G to fall back on), I've had an excellent service with good data speeds and free roaming abroad.
I recently got married and we have mobile contracts up for renewal as well as some data sims. I'm currently on a contract for £55 per month with an iPhone 6 and I'd quite like the iPhone 7 in September. I have always had unlimited data as I use the internet a lot and prefer to not have to worry about data limits. I noticed that Three now charge £65 per month for AYCE data for the iPhone 6s 128gb. In September I'm looking at:
- iPhone 7 (new contract)
- Sim only for old iPhone
- Sim only for iPad
- Sim only for iPad Mini
Separately all of these add up to a fair monthly cost if we go with Three. I had thought about getting PAYG sims for the old iPhone and iPads but not sure if this will be too much of a hassle?
Another option I looked at was EE and their shared data plans. They have an 4GEE Max plan which is £70.99 for a new iPhone but allows you to add sims so share the data. I'm assuming collectively we will not go over the 40GB cap which would mean we would get the phone extra sim for £12pm and the iPads for £7pm. However, we'd lose 'Feel at Home' data roaming for when we're travelling.
You're thoughts are appreciated!

Sadly you have missed the twelve months for the price of six promotion on Three, but they currently offer 2000 Three to Three minutes for no extra cost on 12 month contracts and Amazon vouchers too.
We have only ever used SIM only, I feel it is generally better value and certainly gives greater flexibility for swapping deals. We use "feel at home" a lot as we travel to Spain every few weeks.0 -

Thanks for that - I think I may get some discounts on additional contracts as an existing member. I think they've replaced the six month free with a £50 Amazon voucher.
I'm assuming EE is a better service due to their 2G fallback but lack of Feel at Home is a bit of a negative. Not that I travel often but we are planning a visit to the USA next year.'The journey home, is never too far...'

We didn't get any special deals for having two £25 contracts, so don't hold your breath on that one.
I think it's pretty much a case of what you see, is what you get.
The 2000 Three to Three minutes are included on new/renewal 12 month contracts as standard, but recall you have to ask for it. So anyone renewing or taking a Three contract should ask, why it's not included as standard is a mystery...0 -

Thanks, when I go into My3 and click 'Exclusive offers' it lists a few offers with discounts - but they're not spectacular!'The journey home, is never too far...'
