Newsagents dropping Hermes ??

Just called into the newsagents near work, as usual, to drop my parcel off.. to be told he's stopped doing Hermes now.
Oh well...
There's a newsagents on the way home I could use instead.
Except I've just checked on their website... and he's disappeared from the list too. AND the newsagent near my mums.
Whats going on? Thats more than a coincidence.
Are Hermes dropping all independent newsagents as parcel shops?
I now have to go considerably out of my way to either a Coop or a Johnsons Cleaners.
Not impressed.

I heard a rumour My Hermes were thinking of allowing you to collect your label from your collection point. Maybe they are going ahead with it and dropping those who can't/won't provide that service0

*Drop off not collection0

Someone on here as mentioned in the past that their local post office in a grocery shop also does parcels for MyHermes.
We lost most of the very local MyHermes shops about 18 months ago, and I doubt whether the one I am currently using has any facility for printing out labels as he's mainly an off license who sells a bit of food and lottery tickets.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I have just checked and the closest to me now is 11 miles. The one in my town is no longer listed and the newsagents in the next town took over the post office franchise when the POC closed. Still have 3 Collect+ agents. It is going back to the past, we used to have a few Collect+ and no MyHermes then a few sprung up and now they are gone. Maybe they want to use the van pick up but my local guy is pretty unreliable - I dread buying something that is delivered by them !0

It's retailers using Payzone who are affected

I can see it where there is over provision in a town but removing all coverage from a 22K population town (with pp currently in for over 1K new homes) and its surrounding area seems a bit of a backward step.0

It does seem crazy, definitely a lack of forward planningI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
