Can anyone help?
I bought a pair of hair straighteners in January on sale on boots.com and now they wont heat up at all. I got them half price and paid for them using my advantage points and collected the item in store. I can't for the life of me find the receipt but I can get a copy of the order from my online account. Will this be accepted as a proof of purchase? Will they exchange the item like for like even though the straighteners are now back at full price? If not, what will I be offered?

Hi - If you can show the transaction on your debit or credit card statement that will also help as it proves you made the purchase. They should be covered by a 12 month manufacturers guarantee so you shouldn't have any issue getting a replacement. :-)0

Thanks for the prompt response. I paid for the straighteners using my advantage points so no debit or credit card was used. Would they be able to see this from my advantage card?0 -

The OP already knows there is a record of this online and Boots should exchange the goods without quibble. . All he has to do is contact Boots.com customer service.
It doesn't matter what price the item is currently retailing at if exchanged, but any refund would only be in kind (vouchers/points) and only for the price originally paid.0 -

I am happy to just receive my points back at the value of the item at the time, though an exchange would be better. I'll just be made up that they accept the online order record as proof of purchase to do either.0 -

In future, note that any online transaction that you can see the firm concerned can also see.0 -

Your help is much appreciated, at least now I can go in store with a bit of confidence.:T

You bought the item online, so you should be approaching their online customer services, not your local store..0 -

I don't know what Boots policy is, you might be OK returning them to a store but they might say that as you bough them online you'll need to contact boots.com. Is there any reason why you're not doing this as your first option?0 -

I have previously purchased an electric toothbrush online at boots.com, I had the full receipt this time and they did exchange it in store when this became faulty (some years ago though).
I will take your advice onboard and contact the online customer services first. Thank you again.0
