Credit Score - Credit Card??

Hi,
I am new to the forum and wondering if anyone could help me at all
Me & my partner are looking to buy our first house next year so I decided I need to look at my credit rating (I am 21)
So I logged onto Clear Score who my partner uses and got my rating.
Am currently scored at 484 out of 700 which apparently is 'stable' not sure how as I think that sounds quite bad!! I am over the average for people in my area, though.
I currently have a car on finance, a phone contract, one current account opened 5 years ago and another current account with £100 overdraft (I never use this as I just use this account for savings) and have never missed a payment for anything.
I only have 1 negative on the report, and that is that I do not have a credit card.... I do actually have a credit card that comes out of my personal debit account and that I use for personal but it is a company card so obviously doesn't show up on my credit rating
Can anybody recommend a good credit card to build my credit rating that I would be accepted for? (I do not want to apply and get rejected and have that on my report!)
I will only use it for set things i.e monthly petrol and just pay it back in full the next month,a bit of a pain but if it builds my credit score for when we apply for a mortgage I am all for it.
Also another random question, when applying for a mortgage does anybody know what is the average amount you could go up to with a strong likeliness of being accepted for combined salaries (we will not be using any help to buy schemes and would be looking to put down 15% - 20% of the deposit)
Thanks so much

Ignore your credit score. No ones sees it and Clearscore won't be lending you any money.
Any card will help you build a good credit history, but I would advise either your own bank or one of the sub prime cards. Spend and repay in full each month.
Mortgages are no longer done on multiples of income, but affordability, so there is no clear answer.0 -
Oh really that's interesting regarding the mortgage, so I guess they just take your incoming and outgoings into consideration. Thanks!
Thanks about the credit rating, I will look at getting a card with my current bankj0
