Currys pc world - price on display is not what you pay!!!

Options
Today I was treated very badly as a customer at your Weybridge branch. I was helped by a lovely young assistant who worked there in choosing a tv for my son.
The LOGIK L24HED16 24'' Led tv was on a shelf with the price label as £99.99, there were a number of the same Tv's behind the one I picked up.
I went on to pay with the assistant. When she scanned the tv she said unfortunately it was coming up as £119.9. She went to speak to the Manager who's name was whackass to ask if he would honour the price as £99.99 was the price that advertised at in store. He said that we could not have it at the price even though all the L24HED16 24'' Led tv's were behind the £99.99 ticket.
I can't believe this is how this store manager was trained to treat customers
I look forward to hearing your response:mad::mad
Many thanks
Mrs Joanne Jenkinson

For a start, this is not a Currys/PC World website.
However, maybe Whackass uses this site and could reply...

Whackass up to his old tricks again, he's always pulling that one!

I'm surprised Whackass was even there- always ringing in sick.

Poor Whackass, you really couldn't make that up!:D

No retailer is required to automatically honour a pricing error, but it's a fact that most do (rather than receive letters of complaint like the OP's ).

Anyone else think it odd that the OP has chosen to copy and paste the actual complaint she presumably also sent to Curry's, their Facebook page, Which, CAG and numerous other websites?

Does the OP think that Mr Whackass will somehow see her post here (and elsewhere?) and decide to refund the extra £20 she was charged?

Some months ago, one of the supermarkets made a big mistake over the pricing of dog food, resulting in large numbers of people ordering for their pet or to donate to charities.

The large number of orders must have alerted the company, who emailed people saying that they could only honour the orders at the correct ie full price. Lots of people saying 'what a pity', but no outrage.

That has been reserved for a couple featured in the Mail who were told that they could not have the two week holiday to Florida, at £200 per head, for six people, as the pricing was an error. Sad faces and running to the media hoping for a freebie...which they didn't get.

You had the option of walking away at the till and not buying. If you didn't like the price offered at the till there was nothing forcing you to purchase.
