There's a lot more work involved with my installation, see the separate thread - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/71184961#Comment_71184961

From what I've researched online, Ideal / Logic are budget, and Baxi are about mid range.

With a boiler, I'd want something more reliable / better performance.

    I have this one.

Backed up with a 7 year warranty.

Previously I had a Bosch, it had a fault in first year. (leaking). I also read lots and if you read Bosch are harder to work on when they go wrong.

Ideal were paying a lot in cashback to installers, so they could quote the price but get a back hander on top Of their actual installation and labour cost.

I had brother in law round along with another fitter. Cost of boiler / flu and fitting was £1100. With 7 years warranty.

    I'm pretty happy with that

Fair enough but not fair to compare rates when a relative is installed.

Why did he go for ideal out of interest, sounds like he and his Nate did the job for around £500 which is still decent money, though nothing like the typical charge out rate a qualified fitter would be looking for.

We also need to remember this is an area which may massively vary across the country, in London you'd expect to pay maybe 50% extra from areas outside the south east for ezample
