Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
Misty - Im in the same boat as I am also SE. I usually get 3 weeks at xmas and that's it. Dont feel bad about your debt. You are tackling it. The road to debt freedom is normally a bit wiggly.

I think this quote should be in Martin's next newsletter! So very true. :)

Super-busy on the audio typing front and I've managed to pick up £115 of work for the first week of September, not including anything I'm sent by the company that sends the files out as and when. There's more available work sitting there but I don't like to just grab everything at once, especially when I have quite a few files already, so I'll leave it for someone else. Or at least wait until I've submitted a few more files first.

First of the month so quite a few direct debits came out today. council tax, etc. I should be paid from my main job on 12th, plus I've invoiced for about £160 of audio typing for the 2 weeks of August. I did do more but unfortunately not all of it went through quality control in time so it will be carried over.

September looks like being a busy month in my main job, after a few months of it being very quiet. :):) And OH's pay rise should kick-in, if not this pay day, then next.

I've run out of facial toner so needed to buy more, but the one I've been using is by Guerlain and £31:eek: a bottle. Not very MSE. I've bought one from La Roche Posay instead. £11, so not exactly budget, but a lot cheaper than the other one, and I use cleanser by LRP so I know their range suits my skin. I have resisted the Molton Brown new range and will definitely add it to xmas list.

  • Well done lady on saving that 20.00, when I make a saving like that I always try to pay the extra to a CC if possible as a wee bonus payment.

I'm not gonna need anything like that for a while but I am definitely switching brands when I do need more, I am using Kiehl's right now & it is about 29.50 for the cleanser :rotfl:

  • Oooh, Kiehl's is fab. I was using their toner before the Guerlain. :D

That's a good tip about making an extra payment. I will do it on my Next account, which is one of the smallest debts and one I want to clear first.

I just got an email from M&S, telling me I've been accepted for their 0% balance transfer card (inspired by Dolly! ;) ). Paperwork to come in the post. The only problem is that it doesn't say what my card limit will be, and I wasn't asked during the application how much I wanted to transfer, or what limit I was hoping for. It could be a £500 limit for all I know! But I suppose £500 at 0% interest is a lot better than £500 at 17-or-whatever %!

  • Excellent!

I would hope it would be a minimum of 1000.00 as they usually are!

I didn't get an offer of enough to transfer all of my balances either but better to have some at 0% than none at all!

  • I got an email today from BT, telling me my bill was available to view online. I don't usually bother as I see the direct debit coming out of the account anyway, but today I logged into my account just to look. It turned out I was being charged £4 a month for an answering service and for caller ID, without my knowledge! Considering that we only have the landline for broadband and there's not even a phone plugged into it, that's useless money I've been throwing away, albeit a small amount. I cancelled both features and will pay more attention to such things in future!

I got paid by one audio typing company today, but then promptly spent £92 on things for the dogs (paid for on airmiles credit card, to be paid off immediately via debit card). I'm on the countdown until payday from my main job, which should be next Monday. I think we have enough in the current account until then.

The audio typing is going very well for the start of September. As of today, I've picked up £156.14 worth of work, and we're only on 6th of the month. Long may it continue! :)

I have also ignored sale or collection launches from Karen Millen, Cult Beauty and Tarte Cosmetics. Oh, and a Today's Special Value on QVC for the new Elemis range. :D

  • We are the same with the phone, only have it for the internet. 4.00 per month is 48.00 a year :money:

Great new about the audio typing, you are doing so well.

:T:T:T well done on avoiding the sales!

Blooming BT, it's not long that they put my monthly bill up as well, for the broadband. But switching in this village is easier said than done.

The credit card agreements came today for the 0% M&S cards (OH was accepted for one as well), but they STILL don't tell you what the limit is until you sign and return the paperwork, which is blooming annoying! Halifax also increased my credit limit, only by £500, but it's on a long 0% deal so I'll do some re-shuffling soon.
