Im so impressed by how much you are earning from the audio typing Misty. Not least because it is physically not a hard job (compared to the min wage roles out there for non office hours work) yep Audi is on my !!!!! list too ;)

  • Hello :)

I am so glad you put the Audi on Ebay, getting parts for those is v expensive and there should be a decent amount of interest! Earlier in the year I spent a lot of time looking for a car or car parts and had looooooog conversations with mechanics. All very enlightening!

  • Thanks, Buffy. :) I still haven't managed to list the Audi, but OH has given it a clean up in preparation for taking photos so I'll get those done today. Even if I can sell it for £100, it's more than the scrap value!

Haha, it is when you have RSI from 4 hours of straight typing, and a migraine from working on a file of 6 speakers, all with thick Glaswegian accents, all shouting over the top of one another! :D Sadly, many of the files are not as clear as the transcriber would like them to be!

Got £35 paid into my account today, from a mystery shop I did a couple of weeks ago. I also returned a dress to Next, which will be a £15 credit to my account. It's a pity, as it was a beautiful dress that I bought in the sale at a great price, but the sizes seemed huge and it just hung off me. :( Next is a bit like that, I find. I once bought two tops in the same Next store on the same day, having tried them on to get the right fit. One was a size 10, the other a 16. I'm actually a 12. :undecided

I MAY have bought a couple more bits from Next. But, once they arrive (tomorrow), then anything I'm keeping will be paid off my account immediately, plus a little extra for good luck. So not adding to debt, and in fact decreasing it slightly. In fact, if possible I will use my Virgin credit card to make a payment to my Next account, and then use my debit card to make a payment to the Virgin card. Thus accruing "free" air miles with no debt added.

  • Oh, and there is a new Molton Brown collection launch tomorrow. I happen to know (because it was trailed in Style magazine, which I read on my flight home from the US!), that it's rose-based, which means I will love it.

    I don't need it, I don't need it, I don't need it, I don't need it.... :D

Yes I can well imagine. Back in the dim and distant I was sent to Las Vegas to do some interviews at a convention my company were selling subs at. I did everything. The interviews. The transcripts. The analysis. The delivery of findings. The transcripts were the worst and took about 2 weeks. I remember someone saying at the time to allow three times as long as the interview for the transcription.

You don't need the Molton Brown stuff but...you could try dropping in and asking nicely for a sample as a skin test (cough!).

No local store, just a House of Fraser concession where they don't have samples. :( But I will not succumb at this time. Even though it's called Rosa Absolute, and has base notes of blackcurrant and vanilla... :D I may put it on my xmas list. I'm sure I can hold out until then. :)

More audio typing on the list for today in addition to my "proper" job. OH has taken some decent photos of the Audi, I just need a few more, like with the roof down to show it works, that sort of thing. I want to get it listed tonight.

Spent £26 at Tesco yesterday, used Virgin Atlantic CC to pay, and then paid £30 off it when I got home. This will be how I pay for everything from now on, wherever possible.

I'm feeling a bit frustrated at the moment. I did my SOA diligently, and then we had the thing with the Audi so I now have to re-do since we've shuffled some stuff around to allow us to clear the finance on it and also pay the deposit on the new car. I feel like I'm not just treading water but actually going way backwards, having only just started. I think a lot of it is that my main job payday in August will be missing 2 weeks worth of money due to holidays, so I can't make any inroads into the debts, other than the usual payments, because I'm going to need all spare cash to offset this. With that in mind, I'm going to re-purpose one of my many online bank accounts and try and put a little aside each month to cover holidays. The downside of being self-employed (and bad with money!) is that I very rarely have any time off because of loss of earnings. If I can plan for this I should be able to take more regular breaks, instead of about 3 weeks in the whole year!

  • Will be well worth all the planning when you are enjoying that time off!

I was the same when I started, debt went up initially & I think a lot more people that us will be in the same boat.

I think you might be right, Dolly. Though my debt has gone up almost £18k (there, I said it!!). The car is on PCP though, so "only" £11k of that will go in actual payments, and then we have the choice to swap it for a new one, pay the final balance, or hand it back and walk away. I do think this will work a lot better for us than having an older car on HP. Also, in theory, each time we swap the car for a newer one, we will have equity in the car and so the initial deposit we can put in will be more, making the monthly payment less each time.

Next order came and was a total bust. Two pair of trousers = too short. One dress = too big and I don't think I like it enough to bother sending it back and re-ordering the next size down. One suit jacket = slightly on the small side, and I want it for showing the dogs so I need to be able to move easily in it. This means another £155 to go back onto my Next account, so all to the good.

  • Eeeeek that seems like a lot but like you say you have the car in there.

We don't count our car as a 'debt' so that isn't even included in our totals.

Our debt this year started at 12,710.91 & we have literally nothing to show for it, well I suppose my belly cos we probably ate a good majority of the money :rotfl:

We live & learn don't we.

That's a bummer about your next shop, you will find what you are looking for somewhere I am sure.
