Turkish Airlines - istanbul connection

Hi,

I am due to fly on Turkish Airlines from Antalya to Istanbul Ataturk and then Istanbul to London on Wednesday. The transit time at Istanbul is 1 hr 25 min and the flight was booked in February before all the problems.

My concern is the transit time, my relatives flew a few days ago and envountered a number of issues at Istanbul which included long delays at passport control which resulted in them missing their flight. The airline then asked them for £1800 for new tickets even though all they had to do was board.

How do I go about this? Can I change my flight to a later one which ive been told is a few hours later therefore avoiding the problem. When you call customer services there is an answer machine which says due to the recent problems, please allow a 3 hour delay.

Do you have a ticket from Antalya to London (with a change in Istanbul) or a ticket to Istanbul and another one from there to London?

If you have just one ticket, then the airline is responsible for getting you there. If you are worried, ask to be escorted through Istanbul airport from the arrival gate to the departure gate.

Yes its only a connection from Istanbul. The ticket is from Antalya to London. How do I ask them to escort me as ive found the english isnt fluent.
