We have only ever flown Virgin to Florida, but their flight only is not yet out for our July 2017 dates. I have come up with TC flights and they seem reasonably priced for direct.
How do they compare for comfort, service, reliability, etc?

Yes, Orlando I think, as we are interested in a cruise leaving from there, but also looking at a cruise out of Fort Lauderdale, so Miami is also a possiblity.
We are in the NW but would travel to almost any airport if costs were much lower.0 -
A cruise out of Orlando?Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Plenty of people jumping ship from Virgin to TCX from reading one forum. Those that have have said they prefer TCX to VS.0

We know what they mean. Many do a twin cruise and stay with flights into Orlando, hotel in the area then a cruise ex Port Canaveral.
With a cruise in mind you might also wish to consider the Norweigan flight options from London Gatwick. They operate to both Orlando and Fort Lauderdale (useful for Port Everglades and Port of Miami) and you can arrive into one airport and depart from the other.

Not actually Orlando, Port Canaveral, which is not that far away. 0 -

Thanks, I will check that out when flights are on sale up the end of July 2017. It looks like they are only out up till March currently. Any idea when they will be on sale?0 -
we flew with TC last year to miami. absolutely fine and we usually fly Virgin.
to compare.. their entertainment system isn't great. very limited unless you buy their premium tv pack which still wasn't that much better.
I'm not a fan of airplane food but i find virgin edible where TC wasn't as good.
seats were as comfortable in economy as Virgin.
for the difference in price i couldn't complain and have booked them again for next year.0 -
I have taken the plunge and booked, we are flying into Orlando and out of Miami in July £600pp direct. Happy with that price when compared wth Virgin.0
