one call insurance /commercial legal ltd

we are with one call insurance who have been fine cheap etc .I was in a 4 car pile up whilst stopped at traffic lights not my fault .8 weeks ago now given a hire car by commercial and legal handling my claim and received a text that the car was an insurance write off a week later but no communication since . we had a myriad of excuses when we called it's complicated , we don't have an engineers report ,there's a backlog at the garage . meantime costs are incurred for the poor lady who caused the crash .All the other drivers were dealt with by three weeks .although one of the drivers refused the offer and agreed a payment 4 weeks ago so what is the reason for such a long delay .well folks to all the other complaining of similar problems on the review sites yes i have been with them for years and been satisfied after all the quotes are good but now i'm making a claim .and suddenly problem
.now make your own mind up why . Here are the facts .one call insurance and 1insurance are the same firm .commercial legal ltd who handle the claim were originally named one call vehicle hire and one call premium credit .they have the same directors .the directors also own oc garage, that repair vehicles so the longer the claim takes the longer the hire car bill the more letters etc the solicitor can write and charge for after contacting both the legal ombudsman covering commercial and legal and the financial ombudsman for one call insurance i had an derisory offer the next day hence the claim is still not settled but in dispute the saga continues my apologies to the poor lady footing the extra costs .whom i have contacted
and informed of the unnecessary delay . If I was her I would be straight on my phone to my insurance company demanding an investigation after all the added payments caused by the delay should not be paid by her insurance company because they are as a direct result of one call insurance using their own shambolic claims management company .In my opinion and it is just that make your own mind up , there is something very dodgy that an insurance firm directors actually earn money from your claim taking a long time because they are the firm handling all aspects from car hire to solicitor to garage . Yes one call is cheap but what good is that when the average length of time it took for the other insurance to deal with their claims was three week and nearly eight week later and then only as a result of the direct intervention from ombudsmen before i even got an offer . If this is not sharp practice and i am no expert it is certainly sailing close to the wind . So and I know you are out there if you are with one call and have the same problem phone both the legal ombudsman and complain about commercial legal and phone the financial ombudsman with regard one call .     Sorry OP, that post is really hard to follow! If I understood correctly -you have contacted the third party and told them that their insurer should not have to pay for the costs of the hire car that YOU are driving??? !!!!!!?? :eek:

    Sorry if I've misread, it's hard to follow....

  • yes it is very confusing in a multi car pile up, the car in front claims from the car insurance of the car behind and so on and so forth until the person who caused the accident ends up paying for all the cars .we were the second car .our car should have been paid out second .it is our own insurance causing problems not as expected the insurance company who caused the accident my insurance company is one call .i telephoned all the people in the accident to check if .their insurance companies have all paid out or offered payment 3/4 weeks ago out .my insurance company one call also owns the claims handling .in a nut shell they make money if the claim takes a long time .which increases the future premiums of the person who caused the accident . I will be paid out whatever The accident was not my fault or the unnecessary increased costs of the hire car it is irrelevent to me .I have no animosity to the person who caused the accident .that is why we are insured . She should not be carrying the costs of the shambolic way my insurance company has behaved .It's wrong
