A local landowner is looking to ditch their current ppc but would need an ethical ppc to replace them? Doe such a thing actually exist?

Conflict of interest I'm afraid, PPCs are not there to control parking, they are there to make money, unfortunately it's a double edged sword for land owners, take my local town shopping area, it is only a short 5min walk from a very busy main line commuter railway station, you get 2 hrs free which is enough for shopping and it is free between 7pm and 7am meaning anyone going out for a meal, the cinema, theatre etc are fine,if there weren't any restrictions, the car park would've full to the brim with commuters cars during the day.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

Who do John Lewis/Waitrose use?You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Lets assume the OP is referring to a customer car park where customers are invited to park for a fee. The closest you could get to an ethical parking system would be an automatic barrier and a pay on exit system. Plus no petty rules regarding a tyre on a white line or about leaving the site.0

Indeed, Euro operate this system at The Peel Centre in Bracknell, but are they ethical elsewhere? You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
When your only revenue stream is derived from charging people that break rules that the principal doesn't want broken then there will be a problem.
One way would be to pay the ppc for their services, and set realistic charges that the landowner vets and has final say over.
But that is likely to be cost prohibitive.
ahh , like lidl/Athena , where lidl pay Athena to patrol , but its lidl that get the money when an Athena bloke says you parked over a lineSave a Rachael

Why is he ditching them? Is there parking there? Is it paid for by the driver? If so why not have someone of your own to collect money, manage it. Cut out the parking company thieves, maybe have a pay on exit barrier? A PPC is not the only solution.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

The organisation is fed up with the attitude of the company and it's staff and they realise their presence is having an impact on the local economy. It's mostly p+d with some free time limited parking spaces. The issue with bringing it in house will apparently be the cost of the equipment, maintaining it and emptying the machines. The ppc is getting a decent cut of the p+d tariffs so saving that money alone would probably resolve all those issues and more.0
