Car hire - credit card or supercard?

I've got a hire car booked for our holiday in Spain through car hire labs, we paid a small deposit and pay the rest on pickup.

I've just taken delivery of a supercard, which offers a better rate than spending directly on my credit card, but I wouldn't get the benefit of section 75 protection.

My credit card has an exchange load of 2.99%, whereas the supercard just applies the MasterCard exchange rate. As the car hire will be in excess of £100, am I better of taking the slight hit and using my credit card to benefit from section 75 protection, or just use the supercard for the better exchange rate?

Pay the balance with the Supercard. You'll need the credit card for the ring-fenced deposit of perhaps 1200€. Hope that the company you utilise only ringfences, as opposed to actually taking it and then refunding it.
