Excess baggage charge

Hi,

I recently flew to Prague for a short break with my partner. The flights were with Czech Airlines and they were booked through the online website Opodo.

Prior to leaving the UK I emailed Opodo asking what the baggage allowance was (my other half took a case). I was informed that the limit was 23kg. We took baggage weighing just under 20kg.

Upon our return from Prague airport, checking in the baggage we were informed that the limit is 15kg. Despite my remonstration we had to pay a £40 excess!

I have written to Opodo and the airline requesting a refund. I'm expecting them to say the fault lies with the other party and I'll be stuck in the middle.

Has anyone else ever had this situation ocurr and if so what was the outcome?

Many thanks to all that reply.
