  • Got to love the people who can't understand that some people don't check that every single transaction they've made has gone out of their account.

Some people have more money than you and don't need to do that. Get over it.

You must have missed this bit?
    . . . its not a small amount . . .

That is good they are giving you plenty of notice before the money is being taken.

Do you not have that amount extra in your account still?

I know not everyone monitors their accounts that closely, but I guess if you have spent it, you will just have to have a very frugal month!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Obviously I hadnt noticed the amount hadnt been taken.....

It is an unexplained phenomenon on MSE, a mistake by the bank/merchant which leaves the customer better off, never, ever will get noticed. But if the bank/merchant makes a mistake that leaves the customer worse off (even if only by 50p) people will instantly start to scream 'blue murder'.

I wonder why that is the case. ;)

And it is usually some sort of scam, with the potential for children to suffer.

i dont mind paying but i am abit miffed and would like to know my rights. Thoughts? thanks
My only thought is that in future you should carefully check your bank statements and ensure all payments you have made have actually been taken. If they haven't, do not assume that they will not be and never ever spend the "extra" money because they have up to six years to chase you for it. ;)
