He turned up today to allegedly do the roof etc, but left after 15 minutes to replace a broken window elsewhere, taking all his tools with him. He'd obviously cooked up a story to extract himself from our property with his tools. It's clear he's not planning on coming back, and he is now ignoring all phonecalls and texts, so we're going down the legal route from tomorrow as I'm meeting with a solicitor. The LBA route is no longer applicable as things have deteriorated so far, so we'll see what steps the solicitor recommends to get our money back. I suspect this will get painful but I'm not letting him walk away having stolen thousands of pounds from us. DH is phoning Checktrade tomorrow to discuss with them as well. Once we see what the solicitor recommends, we will use a recommended firm to finish the job before winter.
Once we win through the courts, I will name and shame the firm and the individual involved."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000
