Halifax $ rate discrepancy

Throughout my searching, I'm constantly being told that Halifax Clarity card provides the best rate in town but; when I log on and use the Halifax web site to buy usd, the rate today is 1.255 whereas it is 1.317 on this web site. How can there be such a discrepancy? I don't see this for the Debenhams rates, for example, when similarly compared.

You have misunderstood - The Clarity card's prefect MasterCard rate is obtained when you use the card overseas for purchases or cash withdrawals. It's not for buying foreign currency at any bank or bureau while in UK. This is often not made clear, you are not the first to be confused.
    Evolution, not revolution
  • Thanks for clarifying this for me, confusing indeed!

On this web site, there is a form to find the cost of a currency and tops, is Halifax Clarity, clearly indicating that purchase of currency with this card is possible and at a superior rate, when according to Halifax it's not that rate at all.

    Clarity?

    Clarity?

It's MSE that has positioned it that way on their site.
