mobilesdirect.co.uk security check
Tried to buy a contract today and though I've lived here for 5+ years and would be using the same network under the new contract as I have had for 4+ years mobilesdirect.co.uk have asked me for copies of recent (up to 3 mths) utilities and bank and cc statements with my name/address on to pass their security check but say ones printed out from internet are not acceptable. As all my banking and utility bills are paperless, what to do?

Do you mean Mobilephonesdirect?
Looks like a copy of your council tax bill and a copy of your driving licence or passport will do.
'When processing a network credit check a copy of your Passport or Driving Licence, plus a Bank Statement or Utility Bill dated within the last 3 months may be required for anti-fraud purposes. This needs to be an original copy due to the network not accepting on-line bills or photocopies. They will accept a Catalogue bill with a named address but this must be dated within the last 3 months.'

yes sorry that's them. I've sent them copies of my passport AND driving licence but they won't do. I haven't got any paper bills for utilities as it's all online and my only paper bill is council tax bill from march like most ppls > 3 mths ago. I thought of asking for paper copy from a utility but could be ages before it arrives, then I have to send it to mobilesdirect and then wait for them to ok it before processing my order.........so I've decided to cancel0

Got in touch with bank and power and water co's and they all agreed to send me something but it'll take 7-10 days. Can't believe this issue hasn't been braoched before as most ppl have everything onlone these days dont they?0

I cannot understand why they will not accept a council tax bill that covers 2016/17.0

They are only issued once per tax year - unless there have been changes so they are usually accepted for the current tax year.
I use an energy bill as getting them quarterly isn't too much of hassle and they don't have much personal info like a bank statement.because it's dated in March ie more than 3 months agoThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
