Virgin Mobile - Problems returning handset

I'm losing my mind.


On 3/7/16 I ordered a new phone but changed my mind so didn't even open the parcel when it arrived but rang Virgin straight away and requested a return. It is now 18/8/16. I have been charged 2 months worth of money (though I managed to get the first one refunded and was promised the direct debit was cancelled).


I am still awaiting the jiffy bag. I am told because I ordered one, chased it up so another was ordered that this has caused a conflict on their system. I can see no end to this problem. I could cancel the direct debit but this might affect my credit rating. If they would let me take the handset to the store I could drop it off and solve the problem but this is not permitted.


Has anybody else experienced the same problem and have it resolved.
