Halifax let you switch another bank account to your already existing current account with them (and get the £100), whether you opened it months or years ago.
Hope that's still the case in January as I shall have a derelict TSB a/c by then!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

No i never said it was my main aim in life!. I said doing finances is like playing a game where the goal of that game is to make as much money as possible. It takes hardly any time at all around a few hours a month and i get thousands of pounds extra a year in interest and bonus payments.
Yes investments are definitely a good option and that's the only way to get 10%+ growth per year. But you could also top that up with a few hundred pounds extra by playing the "switching game".
But don't worry about me enjoying life all this extra money i'm making has meant that i have been able to go away at least 10 times this year staying in various places and doing many different activities. So i definitely get my get my fair share of enjoyment!
So you could just as easily say who doesn't spend a lot of their disposable income travelling and doing different activities. Fair play to you, you obviously don't mind the time spent researching and servicing your multiple accounts and the money you earn from this funds your trips. We all make choices every day about how much we spend on meals out, travelling, clothes, cars and gadgets etc and manage our finances accordingly to do as many of the things we enjoy within our budgets. We could afford to go away 10 times a year if we chose to but we don't. I could spend a few extra hours researching current accounts but I choose not to as my finances don't hinder me doing things I want to. I don't buy expensive clothes or jewellery either not only because of the money but I hate shopping. It is not a way I want to spend my time.
As others have said though be grateful we don't all jump through the hoops as otherwise the deals you like taking advantage of would disappear.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
