Hi all,
In 2011 at 18, I took out a 2 year contract with Tesco mobile and missed some payments on it. I've just looked at my credit report and ever since 2013 they've been recording it as a default, most recently still recorded on 1 july 2016. I didn't ever receive a letter telling me about this, I knew I had late payments but didn't really receive any letter. And even now, I wouldn't know who to contact to settle it? Does anyone know where I stand on this and/or have Tesco's debt collection details or whatever??
Thanks!!!

If you look on your credit report is the debt now owned by a debt collector e.g. Lowells?
Whoever owns the debt, contact them and make payments to them as more than likely Tesco sold the debt to them and will probably have no record of your account anymore.
If your default was registered in 2013, it will come off your files in 2019, regardless of whether you pay it or not.I'm a Board Guide on the Credit Cards, Loans, Credit Files & Ratings boards. Thank you. I'm not sure it's still saying Tesco Comms. That's what I thought about the 6 years thing but they have been registering the default ever since, every month. Latest was 1 July 2016 (just gone) is this even allowed?
Thanks0 -
A D or 8 every month are not new defaults, just status updates on the original one. All trace of the account and history will still be removed 6 years from the initial default.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
