Gers I had to google Jura. What a fab view – when can I visit?
Anytime tru - anytime. And bring the beast! When the sky is clear of clouds the view is spectacular indeed.
Here's an early autumn dusk from last year: -
And this one is from January this year when there was snow on Jura but nothing across the water here: -
Every day I thank my lucky stars that I ended up here after 'hundreds' of years working in a city. From bed I can see the sea, just, and the noises of the city are now farm and animal noises. Still noises but I can live with cows and sheep and chickens and geese...
Right, my day then. I drove up the 'big city' to seek out the Cava mentioned on 'Eat Well for Less' programme a couple of weeks ago. The drive was just lovely, all the sea lochs were calm, must have been that bit inbetween tides coming in and tides going out, and the skies were clear. This time last week it was tipping it down something atrocious.
When I came back I filled the bird bath up, filled the feeders up and then sat outside basking in the sun. Idle? Yep! The farmer's daughter and two friends rode their horses past me and stopped for a brief chat, lost tourists asked for directions and I narrowly avoided being taken over to Jura on a RIB :rotfl: -that's not going to happen!
Tomorrow is hair cut day. I saw a pic taken with my friends when they visited last week and my fringe was just bouncy - I haven't got a fringe normally so it's just long hair. Grey fringes are not brilliant.
I'm going to open said Cava shortly, just for inspection purposes your understand?????? :j0 -
Hi chums <<hugs to those in need of them>> Lainey McMillan ladies are excellent and will help no end.
Been a scorcher here on the Isle of Wight, spent the afternoon on Yaverland beach (its the dog -friendly end of Sandown) We are all feeling refreshed and renewed and the boys had a whale of a time swimming as it was 26c +.
Tomorrow we are going to Carisbrooke Castle as we love to go there every year and there is some jousting going onso we pick our colour of Knight and cheer them on,
My late OH's cousin and his wife are coming over from the mainland on Thursday for a BBQ so that will be nice as we have a good sized garden and I haven't seen them for two years.
Friday, DD and the boys are going sea-fishing hopefully to catch dinner for Friday nightThe week is going too quickly really.Still have our second week to come though.
The weather has been so nice we hardly seem to have spent a great deal as we have been on the beach most of the time. My trusty flask has comein very useful this week for coffee's
Hope everyone is enjying the summer
Take care all
