Morning :hello:

So sorry to read your news Lainey, lots of love to you and your mum xx

csarina Sorry to read that OH is back in hospital xx

Gers I had to google Jura. What a fab view – when can I visit? :D

Hope you feel better soon redruby xx

Scampi was going nuts at the back door last night, there was a cat walking down the garden. You can't calm him down when he spots a cat so I was willing it to speed up and jump over the fence. So obviously, it sat in the middle of the garden. Trying to be positive, I decided to use it as a training exercise but he just got worse. I was sure the neighbours would be complaining about the noise if it went on for much longer so I did the only thing I could think of – I opened the door. The cat was gone before I'd opened the door properly, Scampi shot down the garden, realised it was gone and instantly calmed down :D

I've been meaning to post over the last few days but all I could come up with was teeth...hygienist...teeth...hygienist... Thankfully the appointment was yesterday so I can think about other things now :D I can't eat much for a couple of days after an appointment, my teeth and gums feel so sensitive. I had cheese spread on very soft bread and strawberries yesterday, today's menu consists of shreddies – left to soak in the milk for 10 minutes so they go soggy – more soft bread, strawberries and some overripe bananas for variety, lol.

A slow start this morning. I'll go for a shower in a mo then put the washing machine on. Scampi's not coping with all the kids when we're out so we'll just have an amble around the block this morning, crossing the road when I spot anyone and shovelling treats into his mouth when he stays calm, lol. I have a bit of work to do, it shouldn't take long. I want to do a bit of gardening this afternoon, hopefully it won't be too hot out there.

Lainey the Macmillan nurses are brilliant and I think that getting them involved now will take a lot of the pressure off of you. It is such a difficult time for your Mum and all the family.
I lost a friend 45 and my SIL 52 to Cancer within a week of each other in January and have just heard that my best friend has "nodules" on her lungs and another with breast cancer both are in their early to mid 50's :( With all the billions going to research over the years why hasn't a cure been found yet?

Ruby you are supposed to go back after you have been totally clear from a stomach bug after 48 hours of being clear of the bug (HS) especially if you work with the public or children.

Having a pottering type of day just put out one load of washing and now decluttering the utility room. DH will take all the crud up the tip when he gets home from work. Fuming because this is the second day of his holiday and it hasn't even started yet :mad::mad:

tru ((HUGS)) dental hygeinists are so rough, I always leave with a mouthful of blood, I avoid them nowadays

Love to Hilly, Lainey, csarina and anyone who needs it

BFN xx

Tru, after one visit to the hygeinist I refused to go again - it made me think of THAT scene from Marathon Man (don't google if you've never seen it). I'm vigilant with my own cleaning now and the dentist has commented that my teeth are immaculate when I have my check ups so I won't go through that again.

I've got some sort of summer lurgy again, I swear I'm much more unhealthy in the summer than in the winter. I hope it goes by the weekend because we're going up to Yorkshire with sisIL and friends. I'll probably stay up until after the Bank Holiday and DH can come back here by train for work next week.

I ned to get organised with my sewing, I've got a number of half-finished projects which isn't like me so I'm going to try and have a big push on finishing everything by the end of the year, if only people would stop having babies. At the moment the list reads:

Animal baby quilt - just the binding to finis hand sewing (will take this to Yorkshire)
Hungry catterpillar baby quilt - pieced, needs quilting
Dinosaur baby quilt - needs quilting
Star quilt - part quilted, needs finishing
Large star quilt - pieced, needs quilting
Advent calendar - part cut out and pieced, needs finishing
Liberty fabric fish quilt - most blocks pieced, I'll take this to Yorkshire too
Tula Pink quilt - 100 blocks made, needs putting together and quilting.
Wrap dress, just needs hemming and a modesty panel inserting

Missed one - I have a "guess how much I love you?" top pieced ready for quilting.

Phew, I'm glad I made the list, I'll look at it when I'm tempted to buy more fabric or start a new pattern, it's quite enough to be going on with. If I get too bored I shall make a couple of small things like zipped bags for Christmas presents.

Lainey and Csarina, thinking of you. Dumpling, I'm so glad your therapist gave you some coping methods for the wedding. Hester, I hope your visitor leaves soon.

Morning all. (((Hugs))) to Lainey. The Macmillan nurse sounds like an excellent idea if your Mum can't vent to family. Czarina hope DH is having better treatment this time.

Think I've finally got my body clock tuned to this 0545 lark. DH off to work, Dog walked, washing hung, kitchen cleared and 7.5k run before 0900. I'm off to Pilates in a minute to lie down.

Enjoy the glorious weather Camelot It was lovely out this morning running to Lennoxtown. The Highland cattle are really cute.

• Morning all,

Quick day at work yesterday followed by a chilled out one. We made chicken wraps for everyone which they appreciated and the GF and I sat down and watched GoT. Feeling a bit sharper this morning after a good sleep.

Today shouldn’t be too different with my boss back after a weeks holiday. I’ll hopefully get some exercise in today and get back on the waggon, bar that I’ve no plans at all. How boring.

Hope you all have a good day.

Looks as if it is going to be a hot day so might try to put some washing on the line before I go out to meet dd in York. She has had to have an abcess drained so want to get her some soft food to eat while she is still on antibiotics and in pain.

The bank contacted me to say there has been unusual activity on my card so they are sending me a new one. I know I have not been using outside ATMs or anything but have decided to have cash on me and not to use my card in a certain local shop.

Middle dd is popping round tonight so will make something with chicken, mushrooms and rice for us. I also need to go to post office on the way to return parcels for youngest.

csarina

I hope DH's treatment is better this time and that you both get the help and support you should have.

Hugs to all

Our visitor is on his way.
So two dogs and an upset visitor, who's not keen on dogs or me, should prove interesting.

Wish me luck!
He should think himself jolly lucky that you're helping him; to my mind, he can jolly well put his big boy pants on, and be civil to his hostess. If he doesn't care for dogs, I'm sure he can steer clear of them.

CSARINA hope your husband gets the right treatment and take care of yourself.
Extra hugs to LAINEY.
Definitely made the most of this amazing drying weather done about 10 loads over the last few days. . Not to warm and breezy. Shame it all needs ironing asap ready for holidays . Book club last night was good. I can recommend A thousand splendid Sun's. As usual discussion about the story took about 20 mins and then put the world to rights. Wasn't home until 10. 15 but did have a lift.
Son has been to Milton Keynes to stay with a friend and is shattered today. He's been swimming, trampoline, to the cinema , baked brownies ,walking and Ikea for a meal !Better go and put tea in enchiladas and salad tonight. Husband and dog off out for a walk with friends so need to eat early.

Hugs to those who want/need them.
