tiling bathroom floor

Options
Builder today installed the vanity unit but didnt tile underneat. He said he will put bath and toilet in tomorrow and tile them around. I thought vanity unit supposed to be tiled underneat at least otherwise it will be too low. Me and my husband are tall people. What do you think? Here is the picture installed in the corner.

    I wouldn't do that.

Install bath first, yes but leave panels off.

Cement board on floors, then tile floors and walls down to bath (or shower tray) as that gives potentially two water seals.

Then fit toilets, sinks, vanities and bath panels. It's a heck of a lot easier and neater to put items onto tiles than to cut around around them.

That doesn't look like a removable kick plate on the vanity. If they're removable then it's okay to tile under then fit the kick plates.

Bit I'd never tile around a toilet. That's bonkers difficult and messy. Plus, if you ever change anything, you'll be forced to change the floor too.

    This^

I tiled my own bathroom floor and got the fitter in twice. Once to take out the old and then to fit back new after I had tiled.

Did the same with the kitchen. Fitted tiled floor and then put units in

Do not let him tile around the toilet. If the pan gets damaged (as a maintenance contractor, this happens an awful lot) and needs replacing, I guarantee that you wont get a toilet to go in the same aperture. It's very unprofessional to do this.

They did my kitchen too and tiled around even cooker. I called them back and told them to tile under cooker. This time I want to keep an eye what they are doing but theh are locking the bathroom door while they work and after they finish. My husband opened the door after them to see what they have done. So tile under toilet too. Maybe under bath too? As I have no clue.

There is no need to tile under the bath. But certainly under the toilet and basin/vanity unit.

Ok he sent me a message after I sent him one and I dont even understand what he means. Here it is. Please someone explain.
"We can tile under the vanity unit but only up to the bath legs under the bath. This is so that the weight is on the structural timber and not on the tile.We can ply under the bath!if you wish and the bath panel will sit on the tiles that just go up to the bath feet."

That's perfectly fine. They only need to tile to the legs.

Basically he won't tile under the bath feet, if you want everything raised, including the bath he'll put the bath on plywood so it's level with the tiled floor.
