Apologies for making people repeat themselves. I have read the newbies thread but it's all very new to me, I'm a scientist by trade and all this legislation and contracts etc. tend to go over my head!
There is nothing really in my tenancy agreement with my landlord, I will try and contact the company that own the site tomorrow. As surely they can waive the notice if they so wish?
So just to clarify, there is nothing they can do to charge my girlfriend more than the original £100 other than win in court and claim court fees? No bailiffs, nothing? (Apologies for banging the drum but I want to reassure her.0 -
You are like my student kids, all scientists, yet I'm a woman of words! None of them understand the stuff I like to write...their eyes glaze over. And I don't really understand what they do!Apologies for making people repeat themselves. No bailiffs. CONFIRMED.
That can only happen if a person loses in court (either at a hearing or by default if they ignore court papers or move house and miss them) and then doesn't pay.
As long as you check each letter is merely debt collector drivel, it's all good and normally fizzles out after a few months.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Also this is the signage on the site, and the one below is the sign they sent me when they replied to my letter.

Just noticed that this doesn't mention the 3 hour limit. I'm sure it is on the site somewhere, I will look tomorrow and put that up too.

UCS are harrassing her on the phone now telling her that the pof act is !!!!!!!! and that she owes them more money because she missed their deadlines.0

Tell her to block their number.
She could also consider writing to them (a real letter) that their calls are unwarranted and are harassing. As such she is giving them formal notice of this harassment as per the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 so they must cease and desist calling her. Failure to do so may lead to a claim against them in the county court for punitive damages pursuant to the Act.0 -
Can you record them next time - tell them their lies are being recorded and the DVLA will be informed and the parking company are liable for the actions of their agent. And do record them and do complain!UCS are harrassing her on the phone now telling her that the pof act is !!!!!!!! and that she owes them more money because she missed their deadlines.
She can also email or write, stating that she requires any future contact by them or the originating 'client' only to be by letter and referring to the Protection from Harassment Act 1997, as DoaM rightly says.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So I rang both UCS and PayMyPCN and informed them that she was willing to pay the initial notice of £100 as that is all she is liable for. They both flat out refused. They're adamant that they can get the extra £60. This is horrible.0

You did WHAT!?!?!?! You (she) offered to pay them anything at all!?!?!
Sheesh! Haven't you read anything people here have advised?0 -
Oh trust me I have, but she does not want to fight it at all and is terrified no matter what I say to her. I feel like I'm fighting on two fronts
