BA refused delay compensation

Writing on behalf of boss. BA have refused compensation on the grounds that the delay was due to weather, which ordinarily he would have accepted.

However, in this instance, the departure was delayed due to the captain not turning up for work, so they had to wait for a replacement. As a result, they hit bad weather so were diverted. Once they arrived at this airport, the passengers were given the option of remaining on board & wait for weather to clear, or offload. Some chose to offload, but then the crew couldn't find the manifest so that the data could be updated, you couldn't make it up!

Is there some place that I can find details of the weather that day, so that he can support that had the flight not been delayed initially, they would have avoided the bad weather.?

Put the flight details into a flight delay checker. Bottonline, EuClaims that will give you a steer as to whether your boss is due compensation.
