Does anyone want to join me waiting to find a house to buy?

Not hugely experienced in property purchasing (being a FTB) but would the issue with japanese knotweed be primarily around the premiums for buildings insurance, rather than whether a mortgage lender will lend on it?

3 years without a return sounds promising, just ensure you get the paperwork from an accredited specialist I guess. Or ideally the vendor can dig it out (pun definitely intended).

There's always going to be something, no such thing as perfection but this sounds very promising MeandO :) happy for you.

What did you decide to do MeandO?

We're still undecided on whether to up our offer on the house we saw last week. Getting a bit down about it all now. Nothing feels completely right but waiting for the "perfect" house might be a never ending wait

I did put an offer in and it was accepted - pending tomorrow's investigations - but yesterday I spoke to a friend who lives nearby who has told me that the next door neighbour is not a nice person. I won't go into detail, but it is enough to put anyone off, especially as I will be a woman living alone there if you get my drift, so I shall be withdrawing my offer tomorrow.

I feel for you copperjar, it really does get you down doesn't it. :(

Oh wow, you really aren't having much luck. I'm sure the next one will be the right one!!!

Really bad luck MeandO - but it does sound like you've dodged a bullet there.

No new houses have come on (again) today. Tuesday's and Thursday's usually the best days - although saying that it's a maximum of one within price range! Have started now looking back on our favourite 3 so far - all of which have compromises and none we have fallen in love with but I'm starting to think that's all romanticised rubbish and won't happen for us!

Back of my mind says something better will come up but in my heart of hearts I'm not sure it will

    Thanks psychological.

Yes, I think dodging a bullet was the right term of phrase the Copperjar!
I'm doing the same. Re-considering the one I'd ruled out. The one with on-road parking. There is literally NOTHING else out there.

You're right about Tuesdays and Thursdays too, I have no idea why. Only one came on the market today in my area within price range, but teeny tiny and totally unsuitable.

My buyers are getting ansy now too.
So totally fed up with this!

Usually September is a pretty busy month for new property coming on.

I was hoping it would be kjd, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have panned out like that :(

Just had the EA on the phone again this morning, my buyers are getting more and more annoyed and are threatening to pull out now. Whilst I understand they want to move in, I have had nothing from their solicitors or them since we agreed the sale. It irks me a little more as I lost my dream house because of problems with their original buyer and them pulling out of the sale.

I would just play along MeandO and say you're waiting for documents from their solicitor. Unless uou think pulling out is a better option right now

Unfortunately they know I haven't found anything yet as the EA has told them. I have also queried the lack of documents from their solicitor though. They'll just have to wait I'm afraid, there's nothing else I can do! :(
