Why don't people include the price?

When they are trying to sell their car with a board in the window?
I'm walking past with the dog, and I think "Ooh shiny car for sale- how much?" and they have a huge 'phone number, but no price.
If I saw it was a bargain, I might 'phone and even impulse buy it.
The first question on the 'phone would be "How much?".
Do they think they can sucker me in if I've shown enough interest to bother 'phoning?
If you're after a particular car, you scan adverts, you don't wander the streets looking for one for sale, so it is only going to be impulse buyers and bargain hunters, no price is just a waste of everyone's time.
They do it on eBay too, with a super secret reserve figure that they won't tell you- why on Earth not? If I punt what I think it's worth and it doesn't meet the reserve I've wasted my time, if I knew the reserve I could decide whether to bid in the beginning.

The point of no known reserve is to get the highest possible price not simply to get the lowest they would possibly settle for. Quite simple really. Some sellers will have a Buy Now price too.0

I would never buy a car from someone who drives around with the advert in the centre of the rear window blocking the rear view. I always view these people as people who shouldn't drive.0 -
Similarly I don't understand why people put "low mileage" and not quote the actual mileage. It's not like your going to buy it without asking for the mileage and just take the seller's word that it's low.
save people wasting their time and give them the obvious details they want up front.0 -

How?
The unknown reserve is £1000, and the start price is £5. I bid £999, the current bid becomes £10 Reserve not met.
I bid £2000, the current bid becomes £1000 (reserve met)

I've never sold a car that I haven't included all the details.
I see it as a waste of time for both seller and buyer.
I guess it stems from those people who want the best possible price but if it's out of range of the buyer then everyone has wasted time and shared their mobile number with a complete stranger in the process.
We should all call them and offer £500 - £1000... what's the number?0 -
I wouldn't be interested if I didn't see a price. It's not rocket science to do research to get an exact worth of a car to price it.
I'm the same with shop windows. If I don't see a price I walk away. What are they trying to hide? It makes me think they've overpriced it so are too ashamed to put a price on the item. You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

Exactly, I don't particularly want another car, unless an absolute bargain comes my way, I can clock the price and either dismiss it, or do some research and go back.
(I'm still searching for the Holy Grail of cars, the one that has never seen salt, and has been polished and vacuumed every Sunday. Now the widow is selling it, and WBAC have offered £850 for the 03 plate xtype 3 litre, so she is trying to sell it for £1200)I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
