Don't get too anxious about the debt collector letter chain, will you? Just Google a memorable short phrase from each letter and you will find it laughed at hundreds of times before - and read the threads about ignoring debt collector demands for parking charges:

HTH - the links are there to show the letters to ignore.

Hi again. 3 months on from the pcn now. No ntk ever received. Sent the template letter (via email) as advised after the suggested number of days (around 20? I think?). No response. Have now been sent a letter by DRP. Do I contact the parking company to ask for proof of sending the ntk (definitely did not receive one)? And why they have ignored my email? Are they actually 'allowed' to pass my details on to DRP?? Thanks :)

Should add, they have written to me, as keeper, driver not identified, and have taken my details from DVLA, rather than my email (so I'm confused why no ntk?!)

They will only use the address provided by the DVLA. DRP don't get involved in emails.

When you appealed to the PPC did you appeal precisely as par the instructions on the ticket?

Did that tell you to appeal via email?

Did you include your name and address in your appeal?

Sorry I meant my email to the PPC. I sent the template letter to the email address on their site, as advised on here (the one asking for landowner contracts etc). I didn't enter in to any other kind of appeal (no POPLA with this company as they use the other one- IAS?). No I didn't give my address. And I can tell from the details they have used that they were supplied by DVLA (minor spelling error on DVLA database). Definitely no NTK within the time the PPC should have sent it though. This is a good thing (for me!) surely?! :)

If the PPC asked you to provide name and full address and you didn't comply then they are likely to have ignored your appeal. The NEWBIES sticky advice is very clear on this.
if this is an IPC member parking firm, see post #3, there is no POPLA for you, so consumers do not get a fair appeal. Instead, just send this letter or a version of it, writing ONLY as the registered keeper, with their name and address (thanks to salmosalaris for the basis of this letter):
Definitely no NTK within the time the PPC should have sent it though. This is a good thing (for me!) surely?!
Should be, but only if this ever gets to court (and then it's not guaranteed because some judges have overlooked this as a minor irrelevance). It will provide you with no benefit in dealing with the PPC or debt collectors now.

The PPC has the balance of 6 years to pursue this charge through the small claims court. NPE don't currently 'do court', but who knows what they will do between now and 2022.

Ignore debt collector letters - powerless and vacuous. Ride this out for 6 years. Don't ignore court papers if they should ever arise.

  • Thanks for your reply. I somehow missed the name and address part. So I now do nothing? And possibly wait for an expensive court case? I would have been better paying the original charge!

I suggest you go back to the beginning of this thread and re-read the comments the regulars have provided for your benefit. Perhaps then you wouldn't be posting silly comments about paying.

Nobody here would ever suggest that you pay.
