Thanks everyone, I rang the number and got it sorted. The booking error was because the Avios rooms had been filled - even though there were vacancies at the hotel. This just brought home to me how difficult these points can be to spend, so I ended up using the points elsewhere.
I got about £200 worth of value from them, so they were definitely worth worrying about!0 -
