Just back from a night away in Lochgoilhead. It was a lodge booked for neighbours/friends work but the work was cancelled and they could still use the lodge. Lovely place but boy did it rain! Quite nice not having any phone or internet too.
Oh dear Camelot - it poured here too and made things almost miserable. Didn't spoil our time and hope it was the same for you.camelot1001 wrote: »Dry here for now and the washing is on the line, it will partly dry till I need to bring it in or it rains again.
I stripped the guest bed and got it all washed and out on the line. It's been so sunny here but very very windy so the washing dried in under 90 minutes. Tomorrow and Monday are meant to be good too.camelot1001 wrote: »DD coming for the night, need to nip out to get something for our tea. We are supposed to be going to the Isle of Cumbrae tomorrow for our annual cycle round the island, will have to see what the weather is like tomorrow before we decide weather to go or not.
I think it'll be fine - hope you enjoy it!0 -
Thanks Gers, we had a great time walking. It was quite mild and the rain was on and off today - still got some fantastic views!
Washing almost dry, it can finish off on the airer.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow, DD always gets so excited - she's 24!0 -
Family came round an hour early and had cooked a lunch for me and decorated the conservatory. They even hung bunting and fairy lights in the garden.
They then drove me to York and we were booked for "Sherlock Holmes and the Hound of the Baskervilles" at the theatre which I really enjoyed although a bit disconcerted when they broke into song and dance.;)
Had a lovely day and really happy but so sorry for what Lainey and her mum and others are going through.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"

Good evening chums (just) Thank you all for your goodwishes .well after a dreadful journey on the M3 with 20 plus miles of roadworks My car arrived in time to catch the boat but Dd missed hers so she had to go on Stand-by' and luckily she got on the next one
Still we all arrived safe and sound eventually, and the weather is glorious Last night was so nice we had a BBQ in the garden.Today we spent most of it on Sandown Beach and came home looking extremely healthy and glowing:) My son-in-law cooked a superb buttered chicken curry which was just delicious. We are all really relaxing now and into holiday mode .
I just thought I'd pop my head round the door and see how you all are .
I'm so sorry to hear of your mums diagnosis Lainey, <<hugs>>to you all at this time Make your beautiful Mum as happy and comfortable as you can, and just make every day count honey. I will think of you all tonight in my chat to The Big Guy
Csarina ,you too can do with a bit of TLC as well I think you are fighting all the time honey for your DH and your own peace of mind, get hold of the Pals service and let rip. Thank goodness you have a decent GP.
Camelot did you say you were at Lochgilphead, I often wondered what sort of place it was My late Mum's family originated there back in the mid 19th century. Never been and I keep thinking I really should go.
The boys have been brilliant and such good fun today, last night Ben serenaded us with some of his guitar playing He is really getting quite good. Jack has cheered up a bit, apart from the odd sighing and looking into the distance with his tortured love-lorn look:):):)
'first love' always seems to be fraught doesn't it and at 16 his hormones are in overdrive:):)
Henry is just being his 'Henryesque' self(think Just William) and that's Henry, and at the moment both Henry and Michael seem to be forever hunting pokemon creatures , although Mikey isn't quite so bad, he is hooked more to the olympics and keeps telling me when we had got another medal. I must admit I am looking forward to seeing Andy Murray play in the tennis.
My son-in-law cooked a fantasic buttered chicken curry with a packet of chicken thighs, he is an excellent cook and I and my DD are happy to let him potter in the kitchen as we wash up the pots and pans.
Right time I had a read, before dropping off.The air here is so clean and fresh and we are about a 200 feet from the sea shore.
Love to you all fingers cross it will be another nice day tomorrow
