The kids are delighted - I am everyday, he is special. I am bread, he is cake, pah!

Just had confirmation of in-laws.

Sunday - Sunday. They are hi-jacking the entire half term holiday.

I love liquorice allsorts but haven’t had any (or anything liquorice) since having to be gluten free. We need to invent a vegan, gluten, nut and dairy free version to spread the liquorice love

There are little hard lic(qu)orice dragees you can get. Not the same texture but a similar flavour. I love the soft stuff. There is a wheat free version I saw somewhere, but it was fiendishly expensive.

i wonder when I swapped over from spelling it the English way to the American?

you can condense any plant milk by adding sugar and reducing it until it is half the original measurement -which I am told is dead easy and totally painless...... in a slow cooker! Even makes caramel sauce! and at a fraction of the price of buying the stuff in tins at £6 a pop,

No, they do not stay with us. Which they are not happy about.

So they arrive about 9 - 9.30am and leave about 10.30pm. Complaining about the hotel staff, the breakfast, the bed, the bedsheets, the pillows, the inside leg measurement of the chef, the other guests at breakfast talking too loudly, the height/weight ratio of the English people (I kid you not), and usually ending with the size /temperature / location of their room, and how they are going to leave a bad review.

They don't stay with us as they complained about the sofa bed, the other double bed, and were only happy when we moved out of our bed and gave them that. DH was seriously unimpressed. So DH said he would pay for them to stay at the local hotel (less than 1/4 mile away) when we moved here, so they do so with bad grace and refuse to take any money from him for it.

You could give them the one single thing they had prized beyond rubies, and they would complain about the quality of the box it came in.

As Chas and Dave might have sung - my in-laws; there ain't no pleasing you.

(sigh)

Or rather....Not my circus, not my monkeys.... but the circus still comes to town
