I would find a chocolate factory tour - Cadbury world do one, all about the Mayans ,and I would make a mole and plenty of other cocoa based treats to eat while drinking hot chocolate (with chili) and talk about blood sacrifices and climbing steps!
DS 1 & 2 were 2 years apart so always got the same subjects, and DS3 and 4 are 2 years apart, so get the other set of topics. I have done the Mayans!! Got the badge, killed the sacrifice, made the biscuits and the temple. :rotfl:4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Just been through their bags and there is nothing there! We usually get a newsletter at the end of the first week back with( totally revised ) holiday dates and a tiny slip of paper telling us the topic. Not this week though. Just one saying they will be doing rugby so they need a separate indoor and outdoor PE kit including indoor and outdoor trainers. Boo!
On a happier note the fake steak-less bakes went down well and 4 are cooling in the kitchen waiting to be wrapped and packed in lunchboxes. Buns are iced and all I have left to do is make them do their homework and wrangle them into the tub.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I was outwitted by a hamster before 7am today. Always a good start to the day.
Tidied and cleared masses of old paperwork while not filling out my online mortgage application (boo!!), which I need to sort out asap.
I have no idea what to put on the menu plan this week. Except I desperately need to lose weight, and it needs to start in the kitchen.
DS4 has managed to lose his coat at school. It has his name on it. Because they do after school sports clubs they tend to come home at least twice a week in their PE kits, and the amount of trousers and tops they are losing is ridiculous. So I think I will need to buy more shirts, trousers and jogging bottoms for them this weekend. Not what I wanted to do, but there you go. Yesterday I was down to my last £9.19, so I was very glad of child tax credit this morning, and I have a cheque clearing tomorrow. So I will have about £100 tomorrow, with £50 coming in later next week, and 10 days left of the month. All things considered I have done pretty well this month on a very limited budget. I just have to keep on going. Something is bound to crop up and I do not want to put anything else onto my credit card.
I have to go and get DS2s glasses in the morning (9am), he is not going to be happy when I tell him he needs to bring his head with me. DS1 wants to go into town and buy his best friend a birthday present.
My main aim will be to keep him out of a coffee shop - my kids can spend money like you would not believe - or the health food shop that sells flapjacks (I mean who buys health food shop flapjacks???). They are very much their father's sons.
In even sadder news, I have absolutely nothing in my diary to look forward to.
So I will sort the remortgage this weekend, and decorate my bedroom.
I deserve somewhere nice to live while the rest of them mess about on computers and leave their rooms in a mess. Sometimes I think I would not see them at all if I did not call them down to feed them. My kids have become boring. I suppose this is them growing up. I am superfluous except when they are hungry.
I think I need a hobby.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

You're definitely not superfluous f0xholes, just teaching them to be (to some extent) independent. Mums are always needed though whatever age x
And what is it with kids and coffees there's days? The closest we got to takeay coffee when I was a teen was tea in a styrofoam cup from the
SevenEleven to keep warm when we'd missed our last train home.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I was just feeling a bit miserable last night, as I don't think my kids have said anything to me for a week that hasn't involved 'Do you know where my _____ is?' or 'What's for tea Mum?/ Have you made a pudding?'
I need to start focussing outside the family, or I will end up one of those empty nester nutters who iron underpants and tea towels and face cloths.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hope you're feeling a bit better today f0xh0les. I have no nest to empty so to speak and on occasion I have ironed OH underpants if they've been in the ironing pile, prob my facecloth and deff some cotton tea towels I got from Homesense (winter and easter ones) because I can't stand them screwed up hanging over the oven door. :rotfl::oFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Oops, no offense intended to those who choose to do those things because they like them done, rather than someone having nothing else to do except iron face cloths. I don't even own an ironing board.
Took DS2 off to collect his glasses this morning. it was nice just having one at a time.
DH has just taken out DS1 to town to spend their Xmas vouchers. He got in his car and realised all the drawers under the seats had been pulled out. Someone has a way to unlock cars around here! It would explain my satnav going walkabout. Anyway, nothing is missing, but still worrying.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

:rotfl: I don't actually like ironing, I do it because the housework fairies seem to have gone AWOL
Eeek, that's scary about the car, though at least the car is still there. Years ago someone tried to break into mine (police question, did they leave anything to identify them? ...yes, they left a lovely business card...rolls eyes...course they bl00dy didn't). Instead they crow barred open a neighbours car and took a very expensive leather jacket and a laptop from hers  we think they'd also tried mine becaus my sat nav mount was on the window, even though I never left my sat nag in there.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
